This inaugural golf tournament is being organised by Sustainable Southern Highlands Inc., established in 2015 by a group of local residents and businesses. Their primary concern is that political decisions made for this region are based on independent research and evidence as to their social, economic and environmental value to this area. The group has already funded seven research projects and is also now open to grant applications from secondary schools in the Highlands for projects with sustainable aims.
